Spaghetti with walnuts

The spaghetti is boiled in salted water, then passed under a stream of cold water.

Method of preparation

I boiled the potatoes in their skins, peeled them and crushed them like puree. I then added the chestnut puree, flour and salt and kneaded well. If the dough is too soft, you can add more flour.

Then I broke pieces of dough and started rolling them into an elongated shape. Meanwhile, I boiled water, and when it started to boil, I added a pinch of salt and boiled the stews until they rose to the surface.

  • 50 g of ground almonds
  • 50 g of coconut
  • 30 g of ground pecans
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Cinnamon
  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup
Method of preparation

I blended the almonds and pecans in a blender, and then I melted the butter in a pan and fried the almonds, coconut and pecans in butter. At the end I added the caramelized sugar for 1-2 minutes, vanilla and cinnamon for a special flavor. I strained the sticks from the boiled water and put them in the pan for 1-2 minutes, until they roll well through the nuts and cover with a crunchy and delicious layer. I served them with nostalgia, sprinkled with a little acacia honey, but they also go very well with maple syrup. Good appetite!

If there is anything left overnight it will definitely be a slice of simple walnut cake it can end up in the school package, it can replace breakfast (I keep a slice just for me especially for breakfast).

Surely everyone ate at least once a slice of this sweetness, it was very often prepared during the holidays when it smelled of winter and gingerbread. He borrowed the flavors from the gingerbread, in small quantities, because they fit perfectly with any walnut cake and they take care to seduce you from the moment it is in the oven. It smells so good that you can't leave the oven.

As I was telling you, simple walnut cake it is very easy to make and does not need many ingredients. In addition, they are all available to anyone and are not expensive. Any beginner in cooking can prepare a simple walnut cake. And you can play with flavors. You can also add grated orange peel, cloves, 1 teaspoon of cocoa for color.

This recipe is one of the few recipes kept from my mother's rather old and broken recipe book. Unfortunately we kept moving and they probably got lost, but I'm glad that at least it remained, in a box with pictures. I wanted to show my child a picture with my grandparents and I came up with the recipe. I think nothing is accidental, so here I have remade the recipe especially for you.

3 large eggs (120 g egg whites + 80 g yolks)

180 g ground walnuts (50 g larger ground)

1 knife tip nutmeg powder

Mix the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they become a white and hard foam. Gradually add the sugar and continue to mix for about 6 minutes from the moment you finish adding the sugar.

Gradually add the yolks and oil, stirring gently, from bottom to top, then the milk - but do not mix completely. Add flour mixed with baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Add ground walnuts and honey, then mix gently until the composition is homogeneous. Pour the dough into the bowl lined with baking paper on the bottom, then bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 ° C for 35-45 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.

Let the cake cool for the first 15 minutes in the pan, then on a grill.

We can leave it simple or powder it with sugar. We cut slices or cubes and pamper ourselves with the simplest and most delicious cake with walnuts and a cup of tea.

Rolls filled with walnuts

1. Combine milk with sugar and dry yeast. Set the mixture aside for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.

2. Put the flour in a large bowl and pour the yeast milk in its center, followed by butter, egg, oil and salt powder.

3. Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes, and if after 3-4 minutes it does not become finer and non-sticky, add more flour little by little.

4. After 10-12 minutes of kneading well, put the dough in a large bowl, covered with cling film and leave it to rise for at least 2 hours, or until it doubles (at least!) Its volume.

5. When the dough has risen, knead it for another 5 minutes on the worktop sprinkled with flour.

6. Then cut it in 2 and spread each piece of dough one by one, in a thin sheet.

Recipe boiled martyrs with walnuts


  • 1 l of water
  • 100 g commercial martyrs for boiling
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 g walnuts
  • An envelope of vanilla sugar or a teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A tip of cinnamon knife
  • Peel an orange
  • A pinch of salt.

Method of preparation

In a bowl, mix the sugar, orange peel, vanilla sugar or vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt. Add water over and boil everything. If you like martyrs with more juice, then you can add another 500 ml of water. Leave everything on the fire until the syrup starts to boil.

Meanwhile, fry the walnuts in the pan a little, then grind them. When the syrup boils, add the martyrs and let it boil according to the instructions on the package.

When everything is ready, take the pot off the heat, cover with a lid and set aside for 20-30 minutes, until the martyrs swell well and absorb the aromatic syrup. Add the chopped walnuts and eat hot.

Boiled martyrs


Cut the garlic into small pieces and fry it in a little olive oil, in a large pan. When you see that the garlic starts to color a little, add the tomatoes cut in four. Add a little wine and vegetables. Let it boil at low heat for 15-20 minutes. Add the finely chopped basil. See photo

Put on the fire a large pot of plenty of water to boil. When the water boils, add a teaspoon of coarse salt. When the water starts to boil again, add the pasta. Let it boil for the time indicated on the package.
When the pasta is cooked, strain it and put it in the pan, over the salsa you have prepared before.

How to make spaghetti with shells and cherry tomatoes?

I boiled a large pot of water for spaghetti (min. 3 L of water and 3 teaspoons of salt). Until the water boils, I take care of the shells.

How to clean mussels (mussels)?

I took the mussels out of the bag and placed them in a large bowl. I covered them with cold water and left them in it for 15-20 minutes. During this time they filter the surrounding water and automatically remove the sand. It will be deposited at the bottom of the vessel. I removed the shells with a foamer (so as not to disturb the sand) and moved them to another clean bowl. You can find more about this topic here.

Grooming involves, first of all, pulling out the beards that hang from the carapace. Secondly, I scraped the ones that had things that lack shell & # 8211 sand, corals, small shells, etc. I used a knife with a short, well-sharpened blade. You can also use a rough wire brush. I threw away the open ones that, after I knocked on them, did not close again. There were about 3-4. Also, I threw away the chipped, crushed, broken shells.

I moved the clean shells to a strainer and rinsed them again with cold water. Then I let them drain.

In the meantime, the pasta water started to boil, so I boiled the spaghetti. The cooking time is the one indicated on the package & # 8211 generally 9-11 minutes. I thought of the timing so that the pasta would be ready at once with the shells in the pan.


  • 5 eggs
  • 250 g sugar
  • 100 ml oil
  • 250 g flour

Grate the lemon peel in a bowl, slowly add the yolks and pour in the oil, little by little, so with the mayonnaise.

Meanwhile, beat the egg whites with a little salt, add the sugar until it hardens like meringue.

Put in the egg white baking powder quenched with lemon juice and continue to mix lightly with a wooden spoon, from top to bottom. Then put the yolk mayonnaise and flour "in the rain". Incorporate in the composition the walnut kernel given through the flour. The appearance of the dough should be like a thick cream.

On top, sprinkle large pieces of walnut for decoration.

Grease a pan with butter, line it with flour and fill it with the resulting composition.

Heat the oven well, then, when you insert the tray into the stove, reduce the heat to a minimum. After 30 minutes, turn the tray over walnut cake bake for another 10-15 minutes.
