This is a very good recipe, but I found that two things make it a bit better. 1) If it is a bit tart, adding up to 1 Tblsp of sugar helps. 2) Before adding the ice, if you can refrigerate the mixture overnight, the mango scent and flavor intensify IMMENSELY.-09 Aug 2010

Mango is on sale here this week so I bought quite a bit and we're in danger of losing them. I used buttermilk (use or lose kind of situation--I tried buttermilk in another smoothie recipe and we really liked it--you should try it, too!) and chunked frozen bananas instead of ice cubes instead of ice for added thickness and fruit. I doubled this for my boys and I and it was just enough for all of us. Very tasty!-18 Feb 2011
Great smoothie! What I liked best about this recipe is that it called for less yogurt than most - enough to give it some thickness and creaminess, without giving it that noticeable sour tang. While I did have fresh mango on hand, I decided to use frozen and I'm glad I did - I do notice that using frozen fruit does make a difference in making this super cold and refreshing. While I liked the addition of the vanilla I'll either reduce the amount next time or omit it altogether - there was enough in the vanilla yogurt and I think it may have detracted a bit from the full mango flavor. Also, since I used frozen mango, I think I'll omit the ice cubes next time too - Hubs and I both like our smoothies thick. The slight changes I'd make to this recipe in no way is a criticism of the recipe, but only a matter of personal preference. I loved this nice change from the typical berry smoothie!-27 Jul 2010

So, a bit of a confession: I’ve never had an Orange Julius.
There’s no real reason, I’ve just never been tempted by their s style mall kiosks – especially when they stand kitty-corner to caffeinated offerings or my favorite mall treat. However, when I recently served up these Mango Vanilla Smoothies to a friend, she exclaimed it was like drinking a gourmet Orange Julius.
Somewhere between a milkshake and a smoothie, this mango vanilla smoothie is pleasantly sweet without being cloying. It’s thick and creamy with a bright mango flavor and a light vanilla touch.
My daughter has always loved mango, and it’s a more mellow, fruitier option than citrus fruits which can be a bit too acidic in recipes. You could definitely swap guava, peach, cantaloupe or papaya in it’s place.
I love this as a healthier option to ice cream or sorbet and it would be the perfect brunch drink option for the whole family to enjoy. You can also freeze this recipe in popsicle molds for a delicious treat for the kids.
- 1½ cup (360 ml) vanilla soy yogurt, or low-fat vanilla yogurt
- ½ cup (120 ml) water
- 2 (250 g) medium oranges, peeled, halved
- 2 cups (300 g) frozen mango chunks
- 1 cup (130 g) ice cubes
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.
- Blend for 45 seconds or until desired consistency is reached, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.

- Boil the milk and cool it.
- Wash and peel the mango, cut the mango pulp into small pieces.

I just made my own version of this. I'm pregnant so I just tweaked it to the fruits I was currently craving. I also used vanilla bean ice cream, but it still tastes just like a smoothie. I used a mix of frozen mango, peaches and pineapples. Also some diced pineapples from the can. 2/3 of 2% milk because seriously! who drinks fat free milk? I didn't use any vanilla extract, but I did use a tablespoon of honey and about 2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. I didn't use any bananas either, but it tastes AMAZING. Like I said, still tastes like a smoothie even though I used ice cream. And I can taste all the fruit. Still a healthy choice.
I found that it was a little too sweet and creamy for me. So the second time I used 1% milk and no vanilla. It was great!
This is a very good recipe! I used two mangoes and whole milk. It was delicious, but the banana did overpower the mangoes, even with two mangoes. I would definitely make this again, but with more mangoes or less banana.

Delicious! I would dub this a Banana Pudding Smoothie. You will never believe there is only 1 teaspoon of sweetener (I used agave, not honey), because the ripe mango and banana are so naturally sweet. The perfect consistency, and a great energy boost.
Great texture, though the flavor needed punching up. I doubled the mango, vanilla, and honey and it definitely gave it a stronger flavor. If followed exactly, the original recipe is good though the banana and milk seem to dominate and leave you with a very smooth and creamy smoothie that is somewhat lacking in mango flavor.

This smoothie is incredibly delicious! I used frozen mango, left out the milk powder, and used agave syrup instead of honey. I froze the smoothies to eat at work for breakfast--has a consistency like ice cream and is so good! I will definitely make these again.

This is good! I'm drinking it right now haha. I didn't feel like waiting for the mango to freeze though so I just used fresh mango. Also I didn't do the dry milk boost. But anyway, it's awesome and it filled me up!
- Use ripe, sweet, deep yellow-colored mangoes for a good taste and look.
- I used fresh mangoes, it can be replaced with ready-made/canned mango pulp or frozen mangoes too.
- Freezing the chopped mangoes for 3 to 4 hours makes this drink very creamy. But this step is totally optional.
- Use fibreless mangoes, otherwise strain the puree, and then use it.
- Sugar can be replaced with honey, powdered jaggery, palm sugar, maple syrup, or coconut sugar.
- Adjust sugar accordingly to your taste. If the mangoes, you use are too sweet, skip the sugar completely.
- Try to use yogurt that is fresh and not sour. As sour curd will totally spoil the taste.
- For a super thick, rich, and creamy Mango Lassi Recipe, use full-fat yogurt.
- Vegan Option– use dairy-free yogurt like soy or coconut, milk with vegan milk, and sugar with maple syrup. But remember, coconut yogurt will lend a coconutty taste to the lassi.
- Also, this Mango Lassi Recipe can be flavored with saffron, rose essence, rose water, kewra, or vanilla extract too.
- Serve this lassi as soon as it is made. Though it can be refrigerated for a day, the yogurt will start to change in taste and flavor.

What is Mango Pineapple Smoothie?
A simple and delicious Summer smoothie which has the amazing combination of pineapple and mangoes.
I have also added some banana, that adds to the creamy texture of the same, but you can avoid adding it too.
To make it luscious, I have added honey, milk, yogurt and vanilla extract for some refreshing flavor.
Furthermore, you may throw some orange juice along with a cup coconut milk, mango chunks, ice cubes and greek yogurt to make it more tasteful.
Most importantly, I used peeled and frozen mango, frozen pineapple while making it.
Because, these frozen tropical fruits will make it more creamy, thick, and slurp-worthy.

Yes, absolutely! Add in whatever fruits you like and have a customized to match your tastes. I can never get enough of the combination of mango and banana together. To be honest, I usually just add whatever fruits I have left over. It saves money and gives me a different combination every time. Here are a few ideas for you to try:
Strawberries – You can never go wrong with adding some berries to this smoothie.
Cherries – Whether you want to toss a few in with the mango or have them as a smoothie by themselves, they are yummy! Try maraschino cherries for a super sweet kick.
Kiwi – By adding kiwi to the smoothie, you’ll feel like you’re on a tropical island.
Pineapple – Adding pineapple is by far my favorite fruit to add with mango. It’s the dream team if you ask me.
